Job Overview

Gateway Recruiting, INC. is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for coordinating activities involved with purchasing goods and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Requisition Review: Review and analyze purchase requisitions to ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Vendor Management: Conferring with vendors to obtain product or service information, including price, availability, and delivery schedules.
  • Product Selection: Selecting products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Value Estimation: Estimating values according to knowledge of market prices and industry trends.
  • Procurement Methodology: Determining the most effective method of procurement, including direct purchase or bid.
  • Purchase Order Preparation: Preparing purchase orders or bid requests to ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Contract Negotiation: Reviewing bid proposals and negotiating contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
  • Procurement Record Maintenance: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date procurement records, including items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
  • Defective Goods Resolution: Discussing defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine the source of trouble and take corrective action.
  • Invoice Approval: Approving invoices for payment to ensure accurate and timely payment of goods and services.
  • Delivery Expediting: Expediting delivery of goods to users to ensure timely receipt of goods and services.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business or a comparable discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Work Experience: 3+ years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • ERP/MRP Experience: Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
