Position Overview

The Ethanol Production Manager Trainee role is crafted to offer an immersive leadership experience at one of our ethanol production facilities. This training encompasses hands-on rotations across various functions, allowing you to comprehend how each area contributes to the overall production strategy while honing your leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acquire a thorough understanding of ethanol production processes, including but not limited to the operations related to ethanol fuel production, associated by-products, and grain elevator load-out procedures.
  • Develop the essential knowledge and experience needed to manage a diverse workforce, engage in financial planning, including annual budgeting, and oversee capital and labor planning to transition into a managerial role within a timeframe of 12-24 months. Relocation to one of our production facilities is a requirement.
  • Cultivate skills aimed at enhancing operational performance and efficiencies necessary to achieve and surpass production targets.

Expectations for this Role

  • Coordinate and supervise the daily operations of a business or technical support team.
  • Establish priorities for the team to ensure task completion and coordinate work activities with other supervisors.
  • Make decisions guided by established policies, procedures, and business plans, receiving guidance and oversight from a manager.
  • Typically, spend no more than 20% of time performing the work supervised.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred (fields such as Agriculture, Engineering, Chemistry, or related disciplines are required).
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience is required, preferably in a production or chemical environment.
  • Willingness to relocate is essential.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including availability for nights and weekends.

Physical Requirements and Working Environment

  • Work is conducted in a 24/7 ethanol production facility.
  • This position entails frequent exposure to adverse weather conditions, dust, fumes, noise, and potentially hazardous materials.
  • Must be prepared to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Ability to lift weights frequently; some tasks may involve working at heights.
