KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts analysis, design, and enhancement of manufacturing workflows, including assembly techniques, production methodologies, and testing apparatus.
- Facilitates modifications to assembly workflows, encompassing process control documentation.
- Implements process enhancements, resolves issues, manages projects, and provides training to personnel.
- Optimizes manufacturing techniques and practices for cost efficiency, quality enhancement, and operational effectiveness.
- Designs, develops, tests, and/or sources various tools, machinery, and equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness for proposed manufacturing methods.
- Creates and maintains layouts for facilities, tools, and equipment.
- Ensures adherence to Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
- Develops and documents quality systems for new initiatives, including control plans, PFMEA, process flows, work instructions, and inspection protocols.
- Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and implements effective strategies as part of the Management Operating System (MOS).
- Performs additional duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Over five years of experience in automotive assembly, with a preference for powertrain assembly.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD is advantageous.
- Experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting is preferred.
- Technical expertise in manufacturing processes, including flow, layout, assembly, and production equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Vision: Ability to read and interpret documents and screens with clarity.
- Hearing: Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Hand-Eye Coordination: Ability to coordinate visual input with manual actions.
- Manual Dexterity: Skillful and coordinated hand movements for various tasks.
- Agility: Capability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach as necessary.
- Lifting: Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Physical Strength: Capability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects as needed.
- Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks over extended periods.
