Job Title: Estimator

C4 Welding Inc is seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates for fabricated metal components and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review customer drawings and RFP/RFQs to ensure all specifications are considered in the quoting process.
  • Understand the part/project and its requirements from the job specifications.
  • Estimate material costs by completing BOM as needed.
  • Estimate hours using appropriate manufacturing methods.
  • Consolidate estimates in C4 Welding estimating spreadsheet.
  • Lead the Quote Review Meeting to present estimates and any potential concerns.
  • Conduct research to obtain data on costs, materials, production times, and develop preliminary schedules.
  • Review offers and quotes by sub-contractors and vendors.
  • Enter quotes in the ERP system and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor or Associates degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering is preferred or relevant field experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years as an Estimator or similar role.
  • Basic mathematical skills and knowledge.
  • Understanding of how to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • ERP Systems experience, Global Shop preferred.
  • Experience quoting project-based work in a job shop environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Solidworks, and Draftsight.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to understand welding symbols.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to understand AWS and ASME welding codes.
  • Proficient in estimating machined components and weldments.
