Job Title: Financial Literacy Specialist

Westmark Credit Union is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Literacy Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our community outreach program, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive financial education programs aimed at improving the financial knowledge and skills of students, members, and potential members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement financial literacy programs tailored to various member segments, including youth, adults, seniors, and small business owners.
  • Create and maintain engaging educational materials, including presentations, brochures, and online resources.
  • Work collaboratively with branch staff to coordinate presentations.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct financial education workshops and seminars on topics such as budgeting, credit management, saving and investing, and retirement planning.
  • Collaborate with community organizations and schools to expand outreach efforts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local community organizations, schools, and businesses to promote financial literacy programs.
  • Represent the credit union at community events and financial education fairs.
  • Track and analyze the effectiveness of financial literacy programs and report on key performance indicators.
  • Provide regular updates and recommendations to the VP of Marketing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, education, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Certification in financial counseling or education (e.g., AFCPE, NFEC) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial education, financial counseling, or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of personal finance concepts and financial products.
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Proficient in using educational technology and creating digital content.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move around and travel to various locations for workshops and events.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods during presentations.
  • Occasionally lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use technology equipment.
  • Auditory and visual ability to effectively interact with others.
