About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Akumin. As a key member of our imaging team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures using state-of-the-art equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures, including administering medications and positioning patients for optimal image quality.
  • Operate PET/CT scanners to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient information, including medical history, imaging results, and treatment plans.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest imaging technologies and techniques to ensure optimal patient care.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N) required.
  • State license, as required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Ability to work at multiple locations.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
Working Conditions

The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit. The employee will be exposed to radioactive isotopes and ionizing radiation. May be exposed to radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

Physical Requirements
  • More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk, repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs, see, speak and hear to be able to communicate with patients.
  • Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel or crawl, climb and balance, carry and lift (ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
Compensation

We're open to discussing compensation, recognizing that individual circumstances may vary and negotiations are considered on a case-by-case basis. Note that this range is an average and may vary based on individual circumstances, including skills, experience, certifications, and organizational needs.
