About the Role

The Residential Children's Worker position at Derbyshire County Council is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support and care to children with disabilities, working closely with social workers, families, and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support and care to children with disabilities, including developing and implementing personalized support plans.
  • Work closely with social workers and families to identify and address the needs of children, and to develop and implement strategies to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to children's services.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Level 3 Children and Young People's Workforce Diploma and Social Care Pathway (England) 2015, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and professionals.
  • A high level of flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a variety of settings and to respond to changing circumstances.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address complex issues.
  • A commitment to the principles of social care and a passion for working with children and families.
