Job Purpose

This role supports the development, implementation, and oversight of the company's Process Safety Management System in the Upstate New York area. The successful candidate will work with the Engineering Manager, Pressure Regulation Engineering to ensure compliance with internal requirements and mitigate risks associated with process safety assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement the Company's global Process Safety Management System and stay knowledgeable of industry standards around safe and reliable asset management.
  • Evaluate risk of hazardous scenarios and develop mitigating factors using National Grid's systematic process safety approach.
  • Work with gas business on process safety incident review and provide guidance.
  • Maintain risk assessment inventory, risk portfolio, Process Safety website and SharePoint site.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring continuous improvement efforts regarding process safety.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited institution, focusing in Chemical Engineering discipline or science; with an advanced degree or equivalent preferred.
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience in an engineering/technical role.
  • Knowledgeable in instrumentation and controls, engineering design, equipment operation or maintenance.
