Engineering Manager

Job Summary
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing all engineering and maintenance operations at our luxury hotel. This includes maintaining the building, grounds, and physical plant, with a focus on safety, security, and asset protection.
You will be accountable for managing the budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining regulatory requirements and assisting in leading the emergency response team for all facility issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the physical plant, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical systems.
- Ensure regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards.
- Manage and control heat, light, and power, and recommend current best methods for energy conservation and economical facility operations.
- Distribute preventive maintenance and repair work orders and monitor timeliness and quality of completion.
- Oversee and direct the maintenance of grounds, guestrooms, public space, restaurants, property vehicles, and recreational facilities.
- Develop a long-term plan for preventative maintenance and asset protection and oversee execution of the plan.
- Develop project plans in accordance with renovation or new construction needs.
- Contact contractors for bids and supervise construction to ensure timely completion of projects within budgetary guidelines.
- Build positive relationships with external customers, such as city building/zoning department, fire prevention bureau, and vendors.
- Ensure fire crew has complete understanding of all procedures, equipment, and alarms.
- Perform monthly property inspection to ensure buildings and grounds are maintained in excellent condition.
- Conduct guest room and common area inspection to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine the type of work required.
- Recommend or arrange for additional services, such as painting, repair work, renovations, and replacement of furnishings and equipment.
- Select and order or purchase new equipment, supplies, and furnishings.
- Manage parts and equipment inventory.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major; 2 years experience in engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.
