Job Title: High School History Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate High School History Teacher to join our team at IOTA Community Schools in the Memphis area. As a History Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our students and helping them develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing rigorous unit plans and lessons that meet the needs of all students. You will also participate in bi-weekly coaching meetings and professional development to refine your practice and stay current in the field. Additionally, you will be part of a collaborative learning environment with other team members, working together to achieve common goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement unit plans and lessons that meet the needs of all students
  • Participate in bi-weekly coaching meetings and professional development
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve common goals
  • Execute school-based duties, including student conferences, arrival and dismissal, transitions, and lunch duty
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Valid Tennessee teaching license with the appropriate content endorsement or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Belief in the IOTA mission
  • Ability to meet deadlines related to lesson plan submission, grades, and other requirements
  • Humility, sense of humor, and rock-solid commitment to IOTA's mission and the communities we serve
Additional Information:

We offer a comprehensive benefits plan and the opportunity to impact a growing, mission-driven organization committed to the success of all students. Our teacher salary is based on years of certified experience and ranges from $51,500-$75,250. We strive for a balanced, productive workforce that is diverse in terms of age, gender, and cultural identity. We do not base hiring or promotional decisions on factors other than performance and professional growth potential. Please note that we are unable to sponsor H1 VISA applicants.
