The Deli Hot Bar Cook is a key member of our food service team, responsible for preparing and presenting a wide variety of delicious meal options for our guests. As a Deli Hot Bar Cook, you will have the opportunity to improve the dining experience of our guests by providing exceptional service and high-quality food.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist guests with finding items, answer questions, and provide deli recommendations
  • Provide excellent service to all guests
  • Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and other special requests
  • Address guest concerns and resolve issues by practicing the boomerang principle
  • Oversee the hot bar and maintain high-quality conditions
  • Collect food temperatures and maintain all hot food logs
  • Ensure that the shrinking of items follows proper protocol
  • Garnish the hot bar to attract guests to the deli selection
  • Prepare meals for the hot bar based on the deli production schedule
  • Organize, stock, clean, and label the hot bar efficiently
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences

Qualifications:

  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
  • Knowledge of perishable food
  • Requires proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: slicers, dishwasher, baler, oven, trash compactor, fryer, hot bar, soup holders, stove top, cook and hold, blaster, and chiller, etc.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace and multitask

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to work at a fast pace in changing temperatures (coolers, kitchens, freezers, sales floor)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Bending, kneeling, standing in place for long periods of time

Work Schedule:

The Deli Hot Bar position is a part-time or full-time, hourly position. The schedule may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
