Nursing Professional Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Professional Development Specialist to join our team on a per diem basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and analyzing learning needs for nursing staff, planning and implementing educational activities, and evaluating their effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in quality and performance improvement activities to enhance nursing education and practice.
- Model NYU Langone Health's Service Standards and lead the healthcare team with respect and professionalism.
- Collaborate with nursing department and hospital committees to develop and implement education and professional development programs.
- Conduct needs assessments and develop educational goals to support nursing staff and leadership.
- Maintain clinical expertise and stay current with evidence-based practice and research.
- Develop and implement education programs that promote excellence in nursing practice and patient care.
- Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of education programs and make recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with patient care unit leadership to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and accreditation standards.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with nursing and other staff and leadership throughout the medical center.
- Current Registered Professional Nurse license in the State of New York.
- Masters degree in nursing with a focus on education preferred.
- Three to five years of clinical experience in a specialty area or combination of staff nurse/leadership experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of professional nursing, evidence-based practice, and participatory leadership.
- Certification in a relevant clinical area and nursing professional development.
- Participation in professional organizations such as the National Nursing Staff Development Organization.
