Nursing Professional Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Nursing Professional Development Specialist to join our team at NYU Langone Health. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a world-class, patient-centered, integrated academic medical center, known for its excellence in clinical care, research, and education.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and analyze learning needs for nursing staff throughout the Departments of Nursing.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities that support nursing care.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Patient Care & Nursing Standards in specialty areas.
- Collaborate with clinical and educational resources and experts to plan and implement educational offerings for staff and leadership.
- Facilitate a learning environment that supports all levels of nursing personnel and promotes evidence-based practice.
- Develop educational goals that are congruent with the organization and the nursing departments' mission, philosophy, and strategic direction.
- Participate in quality and performance improvement activities of the Department of Nursing Education.
- Role model NYUMC Service Standards in actions and communications with all others.
- Current Registered Professional Nurse in the State of New York.
- Master's Degree in nursing required with focus on education preferred.
- Three to five years of clinical experience in a specialty area, or combination of staff nurse/leadership experience in the specialty area.
- Excellent skills in verbal and written communication, critical thinking, creativity, interpersonal relationships, and team building.
- Demonstrates knowledge base in professional nursing and evidence-based practice.
- Certification in relevant clinical area and Nursing Professional Development preferred.
