Job Summary:

HCA Capital Division is seeking a skilled Trauma Lead Registered Nurse to join our team. As a critical care trauma nurse specialist, you will be responsible for responding to trauma bays, coordinating patient care, and evaluating admission consultations.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to trauma bays and travel with patients to CT, OR, and ICU as needed
  • Coordinate and triage incoming trauma patients
  • Review and evaluate all activations for triage level appropriateness
  • Evaluate admission consultations and manage care with primary trauma surgeons
  • Responsible for documentation compliance and responding to in-house trauma patients' critical needs
  • Facilitate psychosocial support, mentor trauma nurse responders, and assist in training and in-servicing needs
  • Attend daily multidisciplinary rounds, identify and report trauma audit filters, and participate in scholarly activities
  • Function as a clinical liaison for prehospital partners, facilitate trauma bay time outs and debriefings, and proactively lead performance improvement activities

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
  • BSN preferred
  • Licensed in the State of Virginia as a registered nurse or has compact license
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • 3-5 years of critical care trauma or emergency nursing experience
