Electrical Engineer Intern

Job Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our R&D team to support the design and development of advanced electrical systems for autonomous surface vessels (ASVs), contributing to the performance and reliability of our solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal/external customers and coworkers to establish the required functionality of electrical and electronic systems and components.
  • Perform research, analysis, testing, and proof-of-concepts required prior to final design.
  • Design, code, and test C/C++ and assembly language programs required for PCB testing and product firmware.
  • Work with colleagues to create test regimens, hardware, and software as needed.
  • Perform full functional test of components with diagnosis of faults and modification as needed.
  • Produce documentation for testing, fault diagnosis, and normal use of the design.
  • Perform clerical functions needed to order components, produce parts, and establish parts in inventory.
  • Perform product life cycle support functions such as technical support and failure analysis.
  • Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts to guide the installation and assembly of electrical components.
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting activities to validate the performance and reliability of electrical systems and resolve any issues or malfunctions.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to develop and implement software controls for electrical systems, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering, maritime technology, and autonomous systems, and apply this knowledge to improve the design and functionality of our vessels.
  • Participate in project planning, provide technical expertise and guidance, and contribute to the overall success of the team and company.
Qualifications

High School diploma or GED and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related degree.

Ability to travel as needed.
