Job Overview

Austin Gastroenterology is a well-established medical practice with a dedicated team of over 35 physicians and 30 advanced practice providers, serving various locations in the greater Austin area. Our commitment to delivering exceptional patient care is matched by our focus on fostering a supportive and dynamic work environment.

We are currently seeking a full-time Front Desk Coordinator to enhance our operations. This role may involve occasional travel to affiliated locations based on operational needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
  • Gather accurate patient information and ensure the completion of all necessary registration documentation.
  • Process patient and insurance payments, reconciling daily transactions.
  • Verify account balances and manage refunds accurately, providing patients with information regarding outstanding balances.
  • Organize and file records within patient charts in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Prepare patient charts in advance and upload documents into the EMR system.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year in a customer service role is preferred, with healthcare experience being advantageous.
  • Performance Skills:
    • Proficient in computer applications and programs.
    • Basic arithmetic skills for calculations and reconciliations.
    • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
    • Efficient in managing paperwork and filing systems.
    • Capable of handling incoming calls and directing them appropriately.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Willingness to learn and utilize various software programs, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.

Work Schedule
