Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team in Microbiology at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests, interpreting results, and documenting and reporting results. You will also maintain department equipment, instruments, and tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory tests and interpret results
  • Document and report results
  • Maintain department equipment, instruments, and tools

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical or biological science or Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited institution
  • ASCP or AMT certification required
  • Certification eligible applicants with American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) or American Medical Technologist (AMT) may be considered with proof of eligibility prior to date of employment
