Job Title: Frontline Audience Development Intern

GBH is seeking an intern to join our Frontline team as an Audience Development Intern. This role will provide an opportunity to learn about audience development at FRONTLINE and contribute as a fully-recognized member of the team.

Job Overview

FRONTLINE is a flagship public affairs series that has been serving PBS for over 40 seasons. As an Audience Development Intern, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of strategies to grow new audiences and increase loyalty with existing audiences. This will involve working with data and audience insights, publicity and communications, search, social media, and email newsletters.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct media and influencer research to identify opportunities for audience growth and engagement
  • Track trends and analyze data to inform audience development strategies
  • Monitor social media conversations and create engaging content to drive audience engagement
  • Design and create social media graphics using Photoshop and Canva
  • Craft social media copy and build out PR reports
  • Assist in the sorting and tagging of archival social posts
Requirements
  • Excellent research, writing, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Eye for detail and ability to proofread and copyedit
  • Sound news judgment and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Education and Experience
  • Working towards a degree in journalism, communications, or a related field
  • Curiosity about audience behavior and tendencies across media types and platforms
Internship Details

This is a paid internship, $17/hour, part-time, and will run from January 27th to April 18th. Candidates must have their own computer and access to Wi-Fi, and be in an Undergrad or Grad program with work authorization for the United States.
