Position Overview
The Community Engagement Assessment Consultant will provide evaluative support and serve as an advisor for community-focused learning initiatives, including:
  • Contributing to the Office of Community Engagement's efforts to foster advancements in critical community-centered pedagogy, equitable partnership development, and engaged scholarship by;
    • Evaluating the effects of community-focused intensive programs on teaching methodologies, student engagement, and partnership development,
    • Collecting qualitative insights regarding the necessary supports for curriculum innovation, outcomes of community-based coursework, and the involvement of community partners as co-educators in the liberal arts, and;
    • Conducting a comprehensive assessment of campus-wide community engagement initiatives, focusing on best practices in the broader educational landscape.

This is a project-based, grant-supported, limited-term consultancy role, reporting to the Director of the Office of Community Engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess community engagement efforts and their impact on educational outcomes.
  • Facilitate the collection and analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Collaborate with faculty and community partners to enhance curriculum development.
  • Utilize various software platforms to manage data and present findings effectively.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to diverse audiences in a clear and engaging manner.


Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree is required; a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in community engagement, higher education, or related fields.
  • Proven expertise in assessment methodologies, including data collection and analysis.
  • Experience in community-based initiatives and collaborative learning environments.
  • Proficiency in technology applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and data management tools.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively.
  • Familiarity with the local community and its dynamics is preferred.
