Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc. is seeking a dedicated individual to support project managers and engineers in providing forensic consulting services that require expertise in civil and structural engineering. This role involves working under the mentorship of a senior engineer to collect field data, conduct inspections, document site conditions, and analyze relevant information to determine the causes of structural failures and construction issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct forensic investigations in the field of civil and structural engineering based on predetermined scopes of work and budgets.
- Analyze and identify the origins of claims related to moisture intrusion, roof damage, and structural integrity.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Review and assess design modifications and field engineering adjustments during construction phases.
- Guarantee quality of work and compliance with established specifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field.
- E.I.T. Certification is mandatory.
- 0-4 years of relevant experience in the field.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail, capable of defining problems, gathering data, and drawing valid conclusions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to interact effectively with clients at various levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Work Environment and Requirements
This position involves a combination of office work and fieldwork at various locations. The role may require physical activities such as standing, walking on sloped surfaces, climbing ladders, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds. Employees must maintain focus and alertness during site inspections and client interactions.
Overtime may be necessary to meet project demands, and the position may involve local and regional travel.
