Lochmueller Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to lead our Roadway/Highway Design team. We are looking for a technical expert who is passionate about roadway/highway design engineering, enhancing the quality of projects, and mentoring junior level staff.

Our transportation design team offers a variety of services, but most of our work involves roadway and bridge design for various local public agencies and state DOT's. For over 40 years, Lochmueller Group has helped communities reinvent their future through thoughtful, actionable planning and design.

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will serve as a technical lead in the planning and execution of complex engineering projects. You will conduct advanced engineering analysis and design for specialized projects, provide technical guidance to project teams and junior engineers, and stay updated on industry trends, codes, and emerging technologies.

Key qualifications for this role include a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, 15+ years of experience performing as a project engineer or project manager on local agency and/or DOT roadway projects, and a Licensed Professional Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advanced engineering analysis and design for specialized projects.
  • Provide technical guidance to project teams and junior engineers.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering challenges.
  • Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in a specific engineering discipline.
  • Perform QA/QC on project deliverables.
  • Participate in firm-wide quality control initiatives.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules for contract development.
  • Coordinate with other departments and sub-consultants to allocate project scope and develop budget and schedule proposals.
  • Assist with business development efforts and prepare statements of qualifications and letters of interest.
