Diesel Engine Repair Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to work in our Mishawaka, IN service shop, specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business.
In this role, you will make a significant impact by:
- Completing repairs on engine products with precision and efficiency.
- Performing maintenance and repairs using diagnostic tools to ensure optimal engine performance.
- Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Adhering to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Developing and maintaining expertise on new and existing Cummins products through ongoing training and certifications.
- Maintaining a professional toolset to ensure efficient and effective repairs.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- Intermediate level knowledge of engine repair and maintenance.
- Ability to complete complex internal engine repairs with minimal supervision.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair engine issues with limited support from diagnostic tools.
- Larger and more complicated engine rebuilds with a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Mentor junior technicians to ensure knowledge transfer and technical support.
Qualifications for this position include:
- Apprentice-trained engine technician or equivalent experience.
- Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution.
- Locally valid driving permit (preferred).
- Licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations (as required).
Experience in engine troubleshooting, mechanical repair, aftertreatment familiarity, and electrical understanding is preferred but not necessary. This position may require a CDL, but it is not a requirement for hiring. Compensation and benefits include a base salary rate commensurate with experience, as well as additional benefits such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
