Key Responsibilities:
As a Practical Nursing Specialist, you will be responsible for a variety of clinical tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Conducting procedures such as blood draws, administering injections, performing EKGs, and managing holter monitors.
  • Providing intravenous (IV) therapy when necessary.
  • Assisting patients to examination rooms and preparing them for their consultations or procedures in accordance with physician preferences.
  • Demonstrating proficient clinical skills in supporting physicians during procedures, administering medications, and educating patients.
  • Handling patient communications promptly and professionally, utilizing sound clinical judgment.
  • Ensuring examination rooms and common areas are well-stocked, organized, and maintained daily.
  • Adhering to established protocols and procedures, including OSHA regulations.
  • Performing clerical tasks essential for patient care, including contacting patients regarding test results as directed.
  • Coordinating office and outpatient appointments effectively to optimize clinical time.
  • Preparing patient records for physician review as required.
  • Executing all assigned duties in a professional manner while fostering a courteous and cooperative environment with colleagues and patients.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the care provided to our patients.
  • Maintaining confidentiality in all patient interactions.

Qualifications:
Education: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, along with additional vocational or college credits.
Licensure: A current, active State of Tennessee License in Practical Nursing is mandatory. Chest and Extremity X-Ray certification is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of six months in a comparable clinical environment is preferred.
