Role Summary

As a Quantitative Engineer, you will be integral to our engineering teams, which are responsible for developing scalable software solutions and architecting low-latency infrastructure. Your work will involve leveraging machine learning and financial engineering to transform data into actionable insights.

Key Areas of Focus

Risk Management

The Risk division is pivotal in establishing processes to monitor and manage potential risks that could impact the firm. Our Risk Engineering teams are at the forefront of creating innovative engineering solutions, utilizing cloud computing and big data analytics to enhance operational efficiency.

Asset Management & Wealth Management

The Asset Management and Consumer Wealth Management Division offers a comprehensive suite of services to clients globally. As part of this division, you will apply quantitative methods to develop robust investment strategies and assist clients in navigating complex financial landscapes.

  • Engage with the GSAM Fixed Income team to provide portfolio solutions across various sectors.
  • Collaborate with the Global Portfolio Solutions group to design tailored investment management strategies.
  • Contribute to the Quantitative Investment Strategies group, focusing on advanced portfolio management techniques.

Candidate Profile

Responsibilities

  • Operate in a fast-paced setting, gaining exposure to all facets of Risk.

  • Translate business needs into technical specifications and implementation plans.
  • Oversee the complete systems development lifecycle, from analysis to maintenance.
  • Foster relationships with technology teams and business partners.
  • Lead a team of software engineers dedicated to innovation.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., mathematics, physics, computer science).
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with financial markets and quantitative methodologies.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as C++, Python, or R.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex concepts clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing complex applications in C/C++/Java.
  • Knowledge of modern software design for large datasets.
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques.
  • Experience with continuous delivery and deployment practices.
