Responsibilities
  • Resident Satisfaction: Foster a positive and respectful atmosphere for residents by addressing their maintenance concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Taking Care of Business: Plan, schedule, and oversee all maintenance and repair activities within the facility, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance.
  • Money Matters: Keep an eye on the cash flow by handling the maintenance budget. Estimate costs, track expenses, and find ways to save.
  • Emergency Hero: Be our hero during tough times. Develop plans to handle emergencies like power outages or bad weather.
  • Lend a Hand: Assist with equipment maintenance and help out with occasional tasks like repairing wheelchairs and medical equipment.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of maintenance and repair procedures, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance. Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations related to facility maintenance.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in facility maintenance: long-term care facility, hospital, or senior living experience is preferred.
  • Positive Attitude: Maintain an optimistic and uplifting demeanor even in challenging situations.
Working Conditions

A Maintenance Assistant at Dominion Senior Living is expected to handle maintenance and repairs needed around the community. This role may involve physical demands, collaboration with various teams, adherence to safety protocols, multitasking, and interacting with residents and their families.
