Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate School Age Teacher to join our team at Port Washington Children's Center, Inc. As a key member of our educational team, you will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging lesson plans that promote the intellectual, social, and emotional growth of children in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with the center's curriculum and educational standards.
  • Create a safe and nurturing learning environment that fosters the intellectual, social, and emotional growth of children.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure the smooth operation of the classroom and center.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on their child's progress and development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • New York State Teaching Certification in Early Childhood Education.
  • Experience working with school-age children in a classroom setting.
  • Strong knowledge of child development and early childhood education best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • Experience with project-based learning and/or Reggio Emilia approach.

As a School Age Teacher, you will utilize your expertise in child development and early childhood education to create engaging lesson plans that promote the intellectual, social, and emotional growth of children. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to collaborate effectively with other teachers and staff to ensure a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students. Additionally, your experience working with school-age children in a classroom setting will be essential in maintaining accurate records of student progress and development.
