Job Summary

The Medical Assistant is a vital member of our healthcare team at Children's Hospital Of The King's Daughters. This role requires a multi-skilled individual who can provide support in both clinical and non-clinical functions of the service area. Under the direction and continuous supervision of a licensed healthcare provider, the Medical Assistant will perform uncomplicated clinical services and tasks, ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides safe and effective delivery of uncomplicated clinical services and tasks under the direction of a licensed healthcare provider.
• Maintains sterility and cleanliness of the environment, ensuring a safe and healthy workspace for patients and staff.
• Supports and performs clerical functions as needed, including maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
• Performs other duties as assigned, contributing to the smooth operation of our healthcare services.

Requirements

• Current registration/certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred, or military medical experience with MA certification/registration is required.
• Current CPR certification is mandatory.
• A graduate of an approved school for Medical Assistants is required, with one to two years of experience in a related healthcare field preferred.

Working Conditions

The Medical Assistant will work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards. However, exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions can be expected due to the need to perform certain patient care activities.
