Position Overview
This role is for an Industry and Trade Analyst within the Bureau of Industry and Security, part of the Department of Commerce.
Eligibility
This position is available to federal employees classified as "surplus" or "displaced" and to the general public, including U.S. Citizens and Nationals.
Agency Clarification
This opportunity is being advertised under the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) Delegated Direct-Hire Authority, allowing for a broader applicant pool without the traditional competitive rating and ranking processes.
Key Responsibilities
As an Industry and Trade Analyst, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive research and analysis of trade and industry data relevant to the office's support of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).
- Summarizing and effectively communicating findings through clear and concise interpretive reports.
- Preparing and delivering impactful presentations to management and stakeholders.
- Identifying and addressing procedural challenges within program operations, providing recommendations to resolve complex issues related to regulatory compliance and service delivery.
Additional Information
This announcement may also be utilized to fill other Industry and Trade Analyst positions at the same performance level within the Bureau of Industry and Security.
Requirements
Applicants must be U.S. citizens and successfully pass a background investigation, which may include a credit check and review of criminal history.
Qualifications
To qualify, candidates must possess specialized experience or education that demonstrates the necessary competencies to perform the duties of the position. This includes experience in researching management practices, preparing briefings on industrial security, and utilizing software for data analysis.
