Job Overview

Aalis Management Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Trade and Labor Analyst to support the Office of Labor Affairs in the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR). The successful candidate will assist with the monitoring and implementation of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) labor commitments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct worker interviews in Spanish to gather information on labor issues and suspected violations of USMCA labor commitments.
  • Organize and share notes from worker interviews to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
  • Conduct electronic and manual research to identify subject matter and provide recommendations based on analysis.
  • Review documents and provide summaries and analysis of research results.
  • Translate research results into English and Spanish to ensure effective communication.
  • Assist in the creation and updating of tracking logs to ensure accurate and timely tracking of labor issues.
Requirements
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish to perform all tasks.
  • B.A. or B.S. in a related field, such as business, economics, industrial/labor relations, sociology, history, Latin American studies, etc.
  • At least three years of work experience in a business, legal, labor, policy, or relevant environment.
  • Exposure to labor issues is a plus but not required.
  • Legal research/analysis background is a plus but not required.
