As a Pediatric Speech Therapist at Ochsner Health, you will have the opportunity to work autonomously to deliver speech therapy treatment, either through referral or direct to consumer.

Evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, assessing patients, and monitoring progress toward treatment goals are key responsibilities of this role.

Ensuring patient needs are met through access to care, patient experience, and quality of care metrics is also a critical aspect of this position.

Assisting in program development and enhancement to meet patient and community needs is another important responsibility.

Key qualifications for this role include a Master's degree in speech language pathology, current speech pathologist license in the state of practice, or eligibility for licensure by examination or reciprocity from another state.

Beyond technical skills, excellent judgment and decision-making skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to remain flexible with fluctuating schedules based on patient demand are essential for success in this role.

Key job duties include performing evaluations and providing treatment programs to facilitate patient-specific goals, assessing patient response to treatment and recommending treatment plan changes as appropriate, maintaining patient records according to documentation standards, policies, and procedures, and attaining established productivity levels set forth by administration.

Additional responsibilities include adapting behavior to the specific patient population, performing other related duties as assigned, and remaining knowledgeable on current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility.
