Pediatric Speech Therapist

Ochsner Health is seeking a skilled Pediatric Speech Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality speech therapy services to children, evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, and assessing progress toward treatment goals.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients and develop treatment plans to address speech and language disorders
- Assess patient progress and make recommendations for treatment plan changes as needed
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records according to documentation standards and policies
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Stay up-to-date on current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility
Requirements:
- Master's degree in speech language pathology
- Current speech pathologist license in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure by examination or reciprocity from another state
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Certification of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) within 2 years of hire
Working Conditions:
The Pediatric Speech Therapist will work in a patient care area, with exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent has an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases and may be at risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment.
