Job Title: Direct Support Professional

Redwood Family Care Network is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives.

Job Summary:

The Direct Support Professional will provide personalized support to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their health, safety, and well-being. This includes assisting with daily routines, personal care, and social activities, as well as advocating for their needs and goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement daily routines for clients, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being.
  • Support clients in achieving their goals and needs, including participating in the development of Individual Program Plans (IPPs).
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients.
  • Assist clients with personal care, including grooming, bathroom needs, and changing undergarments or clothing if needed.
  • Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
  • Transport clients to and from appointments, activities, and social events.
  • Report any incidents or problems and communicate daily with administrators.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of professional or personal experience in caregiving, preferably supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses with challenging behaviors.
  • Direct Support Professional Certificate (Year 1 & Year 2) and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification (preferred or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of hire).
  • First Aid/CPR certification (preferred or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment).
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a California Driver's License.
  • Candidates must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including a background check.
