Job Summary

Momentum WORK, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team in Santa Barbara, CA. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with disabilities to learn, grow, and become more independent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-the-job training to program participants in groups and/or individually.
  • Support residents in acquiring necessary skills, such as social behavior or interpersonal competence.
  • Maintain accurate and current records, including daily participant documentation.
  • Contribute to positive relations between community members, program participants, vendors, and other Agency staff.
  • Train program participants in accessing public transportation and assist them with community integration.
  • Monitor, track, and assist program participants in goal achievement.
  • Organize social and vocational groups to promote independence.
  • Comply with all Momentum Inc. program policies, CARF accreditation standards, TCRC, CAL/OSHA policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year of experience working with persons with developmental and/or other disabilities in individual and/or group settings preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to complete tasks with numerous interruptions.
  • Compassion and respect for persons with disabilities.
  • Ability to demonstrate patience and understanding.
  • Valid CA Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
