Momentum WORK, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team in Santa Maria, CA. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to learn, grow, and become more independent.
Key Responsibilities- Provide on-the-job training to program participants in groups and/or individually.
- Assist with personal care, including toileting and hygiene, and provide skill or developmental training in various activities as designated.
- Maintain accurate and current records, such as daily participant documentation.
- Contribute to positive relations between community members, program participants, vendors, and other Agency staff.
- Train program participants in accessing public transportation and assist them with community integration.
- Monitor, track, and assist program participants in goal achievement.
- Organize social and vocational groups to promote independence.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience working with persons with developmental and/or other disabilities in individual and/or group settings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassion and respect for persons with disabilities.
- Ability to demonstrate patience and understanding.
- Valid CA Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
