Position Overview:
The GW Medical Faculty Associates (MFA) is a distinguished not-for-profit, physician-led practice group, established to support the George Washington University School of Medicine and Sciences. Role Summary:
The Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist plays a vital role in assisting healthcare providers during in-clinic Urology procedures. This position is dedicated to maintaining patient safety, delivering patient education, and upholding the highest standards of care throughout clinical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the Urology Procedure schedule, ensuring smooth patient flow and accommodating additional clinic patients as necessary.
  • Monitor patient appointments and clinical scheduling, while assessing patient needs to provide supportive care before, during, and after procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Ensure proper stock levels of supplies and equipment, and maintain equipment logs for functionality.
  • Educate and train Medical Assistants, LPNs, and RNs on current Urology procedures and equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain sterility and cleanliness of equipment and procedure rooms, adhering to aseptic techniques.
  • Address and escalate patient emergencies to management while implementing emergency measures as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Clinic Manager to document any inappropriate staff behavior or inadequate skills.
  • Track and address clinically related patient complaints, serving as a patient advocate.
  • Analyze clinical systems and procedures, recommending enhancements to improve patient care quality and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or higher in Nursing, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse or evidence of application for licensure.
  • Ability to operate various office equipment and maintain manual dexterity.
