Data Collection Specialist

We are seeking a motivated individual to work as an assessor on an important study providing comprehensive data about children's learning and development, transition into kindergarten, and progress through elementary school.
About the StudyThe Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, Kindergarten Class of 2024 (ECLS-K:2024) is a vital research initiative that aims to collect detailed information about children's growth and development during their early years. As an assessor, you will play a crucial role in conducting in-person child assessments at schools or participant's homes and telephone or in-person parent interviews.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct in-person child assessments at schools or participant's homes
- Conduct telephone or in-person parent interviews
- Maintain accurate records and reports
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be 18 years old or older with the ability to enter binding confidentiality agreements
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Have a reliable vehicle and valid driver's license
- Have basic computer skills and attention to detail
- Be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds and walk several blocks
This part-time, variable hour position offers competitive compensation, including an estimated salary of $35,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. Additionally, you will have access to our comprehensive benefits package, which includes health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
Please note that this opportunity will be posted for a minimum of 7 days, and applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis. Upon successful completion of this assignment, you will be eligible for consideration for reassignment on other Westat field data collection projects if they become available.
