With over 40 years of service, our mission focuses on improving the health and well-being of expectant mothers and families, while fostering early childhood education. Role Summary

The role involves supporting and facilitating community-based maternal and child health initiatives aimed at raising awareness of family-related issues. This includes outreach efforts to identify and engage potential program participants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based parenting education to families during pregnancy and early parenting stages.
  • Conduct pre and post assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of community-based initiatives.
  • Assist in outreach activities to boost enrollment and broaden service availability.
  • Recruit participants interested in group educational opportunities.
  • Utilize research-backed materials to provide community-focused education.
  • Support participants in need of more intensive follow-up by referring them to suitable agencies.
  • Distribute educational resources and preventive materials to clients as necessary.
  • Represent MCC at community meetings and health fairs as directed by the supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate records and statistics for all community-based programs and follow up with contacts as needed.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Regularly meet with the supervisor to report on progress and discuss ongoing work.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Understanding of MCC's mission and objectives, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge of community health issues, particularly those affecting pregnant women and families.
  • Willingness to travel within the Greater Philadelphia area.
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to the challenges faced by the community served.
  • Proficiency in group facilitation techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating compassion and professionalism in interactions with diverse groups.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of using various software applications.
  • Ability to efficiently organize tasks and maintain client records.
  • Familiarity with multiple media platforms and virtual meeting tools.

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Associate's degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in direct service within a community context.
  • Preferred: Experience in group facilitation.
  • Preferred: Background in maternal and child health.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Availability for evening and weekend work.
  • Preferred: Bilingual skills (Spanish).
