About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Energy Storage Operations Manager to oversee the efficient functioning and maintenance of Ameresco & Customer owned Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in energy storage technologies, operations management, and a proactive approach to ensuring optimal performance and safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day operations and personnel, ensuring smooth functioning, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Prepare cost estimates and proposals.
  • Collaborate with other Operations and Maintenance Solar Divisions.
  • Work with the Remote-Operations-Control-Center (ROC) to implement manufacturer's DAS systems (training, installation, API to AssetPlanner).
  • Develop strategies to optimize energy storage performance, maximize efficiency, and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate and schedule regular maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs to ensure system reliability and longevity.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements pertaining to energy storage operations.
  • Lead a team of operations personnel, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a high level of performance and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and contractors to procure necessary equipment, parts, and services required for maintenance and operations.
  • Work with Field Supervisors and Technicians to address operational issues promptly, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to resolve problems.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports related to operations, maintenance, and performance metrics.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and technological advancements to enhance overall system efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Energy Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management within the battery energy storage or renewable energy industry.
