Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Revenue Controller to join our finance team. Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Establish and maintain revenue and bookings policies, whitepapers, and technical memos. Develop and implement operational strategies and associated controls for effective revenue recognition and accounting processes.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards. Collaborate with executive leadership to align corporate revenue goals with overall corporate objectives.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of revenue operations and accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Provide guidance on complex issues and ensure team members are well-trained.
  • Process Management, Optimization, and Monitoring: Establish, maintain, and monitor revenue team standard operating procedures, controls, training, and approved templates. Continuously evaluate and enhance revenue accounting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as Product, Engineering, Partnerships, Sales, Legal, and Finance, to ensure alignment in revenue recognition policies and procedures.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulations, ensuring the organization remains compliant. Assess and mitigate risks associated with revenue recognition.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required, CPA preferred
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in revenue accounting for subscription/SaaS and consumption-based models, with at least 7 years in a leadership role
  • Public accounting audit experience is a great plus
  • Extensive knowledge of revenue recognition principles, corporate policies, accounting standards (ASC 606), internal controls, and financial reporting

What We Offer

6sense offers a competitive salary range of $197,664 to $270,000, depending on experience. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, a 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, self-care days, and paid time off (PTO).
