We are seeking a skilled Medical Aide to join our team at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center in Newark, DE.
About the Role- As a Medical Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting our Pharmacy Services department with accuracy, timeliness, and patient safety.
- Prepare compounded sterile preparations (CSPs) using aseptic techniques and following established processes in compliance with USP 797, USP 800, and other relevant regulations.
- Complete CSPs efficiently and effectively.
- Assist with batching activities as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, verifying that supplies within the area are current and stored appropriately.
- Order, receive, and restock CSP supplies to meet daily demands of the pharmacy.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and closed system transfer devices for the preparation of chemotherapy and other hazardous medications.
- Orient and train new pharmacy personnel.
- Recommend ideas to supervisors for improving methods and procedures.
- A high school diploma is required.
- At least one year of pharmacy experience is necessary.
- Preferably, candidates should have at least one year of hospital pharmacy experience.
- The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is mandatory unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
