Job Title: Area Radiological Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The Area Radiological Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and supervision of Radiological Technologists and/or Sonographers assigned to their region. This role ensures that all team members follow company policies and procedures, and are equipped to provide high-quality patient care and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement schedules and staffing within designated regions to ensure efficient patient flow and quality care.
  • Monitor performance and forecast service needs to inform personnel management, capital equipment justification, and departmental P&L management.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and laws, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of radiation and health department rules.
  • Supervise and mentor staff within designated regions, providing direct clinical interaction and guidance as needed.
  • Conduct regular staff evaluations and provide coaching and counseling to address performance issues.
  • Assess employee needs and make recommendations to management to support employee growth and development.
  • Order supplies, equipment, and equipment repair within designated regions, and maintain inventory of assigned equipment.
  • Orient new employees to company policies and procedures, and assist technologists in solving technical problems.
  • Identify and correct problem behaviors through ongoing coaching and counseling.
  • Review technologist payroll to ensure productivity and resource control, and communicate regularly with dispatch to maintain consistent patient care and turnaround times.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve service levels and patient satisfaction within designated regions.
  • Perform X-rays/Ultrasounds as needed to maintain and improve service levels.
  • Fleet management scheduling of vehicles/equipment for proper maintenance to ensure consistent reliability.
  • Monitor and retain dosimetry reports in Radiology, and continuously monitor, develop, and oversee all technologist clinical credentialing, training, and quality of service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations, Radiology Services.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years' experience in the mobile field.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Valid State Rad Tech/CRT and ARRT, ARDMS/CCI certification.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% within service area.
  • Maintain required State licenses and/or ARRT Certification, health requirements, and operational requirements.
  • Valid driver's license in the applicable state and in good current standing at all times.
  • Vaccination against COVID-19 is a requirement for all individuals.

The Radiologic Technologists may push/pull anywhere from 50 – 100 lbs. With the use of vehicle ramps and pulleys, this weight decreases. When the tech is pushing/pulling the equipment in a facility or home; however, the weight can increase. 50 lbs of force (or more) can occur 16 to 24 times a day.
