POSITION: Part-Time Clinical/Lab Assistant - Radiologic Technology Program
WAGE: Competitive hourly rate; up to 29 hours per week

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The primary responsibilities include visiting and assessing students in their clinical settings while ensuring effective communication between clinical site preceptors and the institution. Additional duties involve instructing students in the Radiologic Technology program's positioning and procedural labs, as well as assisting in patient care labs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure safety practices are maintained for students at all clinical sites;
  • Keep open lines of communication with clinical preceptors regarding student schedules, progress, and competencies;
  • Provide counseling to students as necessary;
  • Enforce program policies and communicate them to clinical preceptors;
  • Orient new students to their clinical environments;
  • Conduct scheduled visits to all affiliate sites;
  • Act as a representative for the program to clinical affiliates;
  • Evaluate student competencies and ensure consistent evaluations across all affiliates;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the primary instructor.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must possess a minimum of an Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology and demonstrate competencies in relevant coursework; or a technical diploma in Radiologic Technology along with an Associate's degree in a health-related field and demonstrated competencies in specific coursework.

Candidates should be graduates of a JRCERT accredited radiologic technology program and have at least two years of experience in diagnostic radiography. Current American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiography [ARRT RT(R)] credentials are required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level and familiarity with online teaching platforms are advantageous.

This is a temporary, part-time position appointed on a per-academic-term basis.
