Job Title: Clinical/Lab Assistant - Radiologic Technology Program

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical/Lab Assistant to join our Radiologic Technology Program at Lanier Technical College. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with clinical and lab activities, maintaining safety practices, and communicating with clinical preceptors and students.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and communicate safety practices for students in all clinical sites;
  • Maintain up-to-date communications with all clinical preceptors regarding student schedules, student progress, and student competencies;
  • Provide proper student counseling when needed;
  • Enforce and communicate to site clinical preceptors the enforcement of program policies;
  • Orient new students to his/her clinical sites;
  • Visit all affiliates on a scheduled basis;
  • Serve as a major public relations officer to the clinical affiliates on behalf of the program;
  • Evaluate students for competency and ensure consistent competency evaluations from all affiliates;
  • Other work-related duties as assigned by primary instructor.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology AND demonstrated competencies in specific course content/coursework; OR a technical diploma in Radiologic Technology AND an Associate's degree in a health-related field AND demonstrated competencies in specific course content/coursework;
  • Graduate of a JRCERT accredited radiologic technology program;
  • Two year's experience in diagnostic radiography;
  • Must have current American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiography [ARRT RT(R)] credentials;
  • Demonstrates use of appropriate teaching methods;
  • Maintains lab and classrooms and works within the clinical competency system;
  • Preferred qualifications: Previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level, experience with online teaching platforms;
  • Competencies: Ability to research technical issues, attention to detail, ability to learn new software and hardware applications, ability to manage time, quality management skills, customer service skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, proficient in sterile technique and familiar with various sterilization procedures.

This is a temporary, part-time position of employment that is appointed on a per-academic-term basis.
