Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and recommend both short-term and long-term procurement strategies to fulfill raw material needs for designated North American production facilities, ensuring a reliable supply of cost-efficient materials.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal business leaders.
- Assess market dynamics, technological advancements, and regulatory shifts that impact the competitiveness and availability of raw materials.
- Communicate strategies to regional and global leadership to synchronize corporate procurement efforts and guarantee effective execution.
- Lead contract negotiations from initial discussions through to final agreements, addressing disputes and price adjustments with suppliers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to manage raw material orders in line with strategic directives.
- Ensure adherence to departmental goals concerning supplier assessments, sustainability initiatives, and cost reduction metrics.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline; an MBA is advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years of strategic procurement experience, or an MBA with 3 years of relevant experience. Professional certification is a plus.
- Prior experience in the chemical sector is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Proficient in contract negotiation, stakeholder influence, and understanding of commercial contract law.
- Strong organizational abilities to independently manage multiple projects.
- Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, familiarity with LANXESS tools is beneficial.
- This role requires a hybrid work arrangement with onsite presence at least three days a week.
