We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at the Defense Health Agency. As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for performing testing in a clinical laboratory, monitoring quality control, and developing clinical laboratory policy or standard operating procedure.
Key Responsibilities- Perform testing in a clinical laboratory, including microbiology, clinical chemistry, hematology, and immunohematology.
- Monitor quality control in a clinical laboratory, ensuring that all testing is performed accurately and efficiently.
- Develop clinical laboratory policy or standard operating procedure, ensuring that all laboratory procedures are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- A Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree from a regionally accredited college/university, including courses in biological science, chemistry, and mathematics.
- Successful completion of a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
- Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologist (AMT), or other board or registry deemed comparable by Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (OASD(HA)) or their designee as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Lab Scientist (MLS).
