Job Summary:

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases of laboratory testing procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory testing and quality control, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform waived, moderate, and high complexity testing according to KPWA Laboratory procedures.
  • Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Access specimens, enter results, and retrieve information using computer systems.
  • Provide technical support and answer questions from laboratory customers.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and oversee test method evaluations, validations, and implementation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Medical Lab Scientist Certificate within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Experience in a clinical laboratory setting, preferably as a MLS or CLS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of generalist experience as a MLS/MT.
  • Certification as MLS/MT by date of hire/transfer.
