Job Overview

Marathon Staffing is currently in search of dedicated and diligent individuals for the role of Cemetery Maintenance Technician. This position is crucial for maintaining the aesthetic and functional aspects of cemetery grounds.

Key Responsibilities

The Cemetery Maintenance Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure the upkeep of the cemetery, including:

  • Assisting with the preparation and completion of burial services, including openings and closings.
  • Utilizing landscaping equipment such as mowers, weed eaters, and blowers to maintain grounds.
  • Setting up and installing memorials, foundations, and markers.
  • Managing and fulfilling service requests related to grave and marker maintenance.
  • Conducting thorough area preparations for burials, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  • Performing grave filling, tamping, and seeding or sodding as necessary.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and universal precautions.
  • Maintaining a tidy and orderly work environment.
  • Carrying out additional tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Possess a valid driving record and necessary licenses for operating equipment and vehicles.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate at least six months of experience with standard equipment operation.
  • Exhibit proficiency in using hand-held tools and machinery, including shovels, rakes, lawn mowers, and chainsaws.
  • Show capability in operating mechanical equipment such as dump trucks and backhoes.
  • Be able to accurately utilize measuring tools.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and client families.
  • Lift heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Undergo a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Work Environment

This role involves working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions throughout the year.

Compensation

The pay rate for this position starts at $14.00 per hour, with potential increases upon full-time employment. Agency benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance, available immediately.

Work Schedule

The typical work schedule consists of 40 hours per week, generally from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with additional hours on Saturdays as needed.
