Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Manager to join our team at The Alaska Club in Faribanks location. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with youth and creating a safe, fun, and educational environment.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and organizing the daily aspects of aquatics, camp, and lifeguarding programs. They will ensure that all participants have a great experience, while also maintaining a safe and healthy environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Aquatics Management
    • Oversee swim instructors based on the Starfish Academy curriculum.
    • Instruct participants in swimming and safety skills in water.
  • Lifeguarding
    • Oversee lifeguards based on American Red Cross guidelines.
  • Youth Camp
    • Oversee youth camp with direction from the Director of Youth and Family Recreation.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide excellent customer service to participants and parents.
  • Communication
    • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, including communication with students, parents, and facility staff.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • Certifications
    • Adult and Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification within 60 days of hire.
    • American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification within 60 days of hire.
  • Education and Experience
    • Prior experience as a swim instructor, lifeguard, or youth camp coordinator is an asset.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Physical ability to perform duties in a fast-paced aquatic environment.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with varying conditions. You must be able to adapt to changing situations and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $$$45,000-$55,000 depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
