Job Summary:

USMD Hospital At Arlington LP is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless patient access to our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtain complete demographic and financial information from patients, ensuring accurate and timely registration.
  • Enter insurance information into the computer, including network payor, mailing address, telephone number, policy, policyholder, and group number.
  • Recognize patient's level of care needed upon arrival and identify insurance plans and requirements.
  • Obtain authorizations and referrals as needed, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Attend mandatory education programs and training sessions to stay up-to-date on safety and regulatory compliance.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years' experience in hospital registration.
  • Ability to stand/walk between 2-4 hours and sit between 6-8 hours.
  • Continuous use of hands and feet in gross and precise motor function.
  • Lift up to 10 pounds 1/3 or more of the time.
Working Conditions:

Variable hours, including weekends and nights. Ability to work safely with equipment, supplies, and materials. Must be able to manage anger, fear, hostility, and stress appropriately.
