Position Summary
We are looking for a proactive Laboratory and Facilities Support Specialist to enhance our Operations Department. This role serves as a crucial liaison among employees, internal teams, and external stakeholders, including vendors and clients. The successful candidate will manage both administrative and laboratory responsibilities, streamline office processes, maintain organization in labs and office spaces, and ensure the seamless operation of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and engage with staff and visitors, ensuring efficient office workflow.
- Handle office management tasks such as filing, faxing, answering calls, and performing clerical duties.
- Support daily office and laboratory operations.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization within laboratory and tissue culture areas.
- Receive and dispatch packages, assist with shipping logistics, and verify packing slips.
- Provide assistance with the ERP system as required.
- Maintain essential laboratory equipment, including incubators and freezers.
- Restock laboratory supplies and reagents, and oversee stock room inventory.
- Be available for critical laboratory alarm systems as necessary.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree with relevant experience in laboratory settings.
- Basic proficiency in computer applications.
- Flexibility to adjust work hours to accommodate early mornings or evenings.
- Strong work ethic, motivation, and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with office equipment, including fax and copy machines.
- Attention to detail and effective organizational abilities.
- Willingness to learn new procedures and adhere to established protocols.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work on a computer.
- Capability to travel safely to various locations as needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
